Process- Making a Comic by e-nat Process- Making a Comic by e-nat
The reason why everything takes so freaking long.
Not a tutorial per se, more of a process thingy...

mmm There are also chapter scripts to determine where the speech bubbles should be.
They're just like the outline but more focused on what the characters say and SFX. And....

BIGGEST TIP OF THEM ALL >>>

Experiment with your pages :
- panel shapes, speech bubbles, effects, color schemes, perspectives, backgrounds, etc...

It makes the drawing process more fun for you and interesting for the readers. That comes very easily if you take your sweet time to draw the comic, since your artistic influences are constantly changing ^^
(but try to keep it consistent :P)

Enjoy ^^

This's exactly what I need, thanks so much, nat!

It really looks like a huge workload.. How much time did you spend on the doujinshi? =]]

A looot of time, but luckily I took long breaks.
I only worked when I felt like it, so it was never a chore.
Not a professional attitude tho

You inspired me to start a doujinshi project, too.
professional attitude or not, that surely helps to keep myself sane [somewhat] = DD

Thanks, since I'm gonna need a LOAD of it :D

The doujinshi'll be bland b&w though, nothing fancy ^^' I love coloured doujinshis, but the workload is astounding :noes: Just thinking how long it could have cost you to finish all those detailed coloured pages, truly scares me!!

My school started 1 week ago, so I won't be able to draw as much as I'd like to.. It's taking me 1 and half a day to draw 1 page of detailed sketch. 9 1/2 done so far, still 40 or so to go :iconrelievedplz:

Sorry for flooding you with complaints, somehow it works like a stress relief for me ^___^'

How are you doing? Any artistic plan atm? =]]

lol don't worry about it, sometimes complaints add spice to life.
I was depressed last month coz I had no one to rant to :P, so I understand.

As long as you don't overkill yourself with planning, it should all be good.
And don't worry, I think you can manage.you'll learn by trial an error, that's the fun part.
Also drawing a lot of pages before uploading is smart
(now I sound like a broken record...nvm)

I'm in between commissions at them moment, I finally figured a plan to finish everything! --- Hopefully lol
I might do another doujinshi...but every time I start planning, it all ends up with NaruSasu mmmm
Though I'm scared of drawing a pairing comic because it will attract the wrong audience. Dunno...Those get a lot of exposure, but it's can get out of control...what do you think?
Maybe I'm just overthinking stuff again...

Ah,the commissions.. They gave me a hard time earlier this year lol. But you've improved that much with markers, I bet you'll have them done in no time. May the Sauce powa bless you with artistic inspiration/ patience,:iconsasukewinkplz:

I just saw in the newest poll, despite me being a pro-SasuSaku most of my watchers prefer SasuNaru, what a surprise. There's always high interest in pairing comics, you definitely won't have to worry about it not getting enough exposure/support. Some people might have complaints but we can't just please anyone[This I keep telling myself] The doujinshi takes you lots of time and energy. If you're doing one, let the pleasure it brings YOU be worth the effort. =]]

Me just [kind of] finished chapter 1 sketches. :dummy: Yay. I'm gonna do the lines/toning, hopefully can upload the fist page at the beginning of October. I doubt many people'll read it though, especially when it's not a pairing one. =p But doesn't really matter, since I'm enjoying it a lot, and there's only this one person I REALLY really want to please x))

P/s If you ever need to rant/ vent to someone, nat, you can always drop me a message. I'll gladly be there to listen

Sauce blessing accepted :P I miss the bastard.

I'm simply worried about the immature bratz trolling my page.
They come unbidden with certain pairings.

Ah don't worry, people will definitely be interested ;)
I for one can't wait to read it, I'm sure you're mature enough to
write a very intelligent story.

ps: sure thing dear! <3

I usually draw them manually with Paint tool SAI
(That's why they don't look very good at times)
Same for colors. I also draw with a Wacom tablet

I use Photoshop only for text and typing stuff.

Welcome ^^

So the last thing i have to say is Get the next page up!!!!!:la:
I hope that got you more motivated if not I hope I annoyed you!!!:meow:

I always avoid creating 'tutorials'
since they are tricky to define, heh.
'Process' is a more reasonable word.

Welcome ^^ hope it's clear. I had to simplify
a bunch of steps in fear that the file would be
gigantic.

And that it is- totally understandable reason, as well.

^^ It is, very. I'm still in the process of trying to create a doujinshi, and after about three months or more, I'm only on the fifth page. I have the story in my head, but as each page passes, I just sketch or draw out my ideas of what should happen next on the fly. But I think I'll try using the outline and storyboard more. ^^
