It's more of a basic intro to coloring process and some tips. Not a full thing.

It was done 2 months ago for a friend who didn't have a tablet and had trouble making clean colors blocks.

Software: Paint Tool SAI
Tools: mainly intended for mouse, but works just as well with a tablet.

One note, if the wand selects all the picture instead of a specific closed area, then the options for selection sensitivity are too high, [link] . They have to be lowered.

NOTE NOTE NOTE 20.10.2010:

So I suggest you take this process thing with a grain of salt. It's better described as overview of SAI Functionalities instead of following step by step.

Am i stupid? There's no vector layer, only lineart layer and when i try to colour it (my layers are in this order: layer 1, linework 1, layer 2) it just keeps colouring the whole picture with blue colour! :/

The "vector layer" is now called "New Linework Layer", and its right next to the "New Layer" Icon. I hope that helped :)

They keep changing the name, this tutorial was done with an old version of SAI.

You separated the layers (lines on top: multiply),and then color layer bottom, right?
The blue basically shows the selected area, it's not an actual color, once you choose brush or pen, the blue will instantly turn to restricted area.

though it doesn't recognize the area even if i change my brush. Could it be that.. I just took lineart picture from deviantart.. If it because of that? I mean, does it recognize it only then when i do the drawing thing on my own.. ? :/

Well it should recognize any area that has a closed line. That's the trick, if there is even one open corner, the whole picture will be selected. I sometimes just pass over any corner or angle to make sure it's closed.
